Mission

My name is Steven Blanco, and I am a computer science graduate with a strong interest in pursuing a career as a software engineer. I created this website to showcase my skill set. Please check out my projects in the side bar or checkout my GitHub linked on the top of the webpage

Background

I graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Utah, where my studies primarily focused on AI and machine learning. However, during my senior year, I took a course in computer security, which immediately caught my interest. Alongside this, I also took several low-level programming courses, where I discovered a natural talent for working close to the hardware.

Pursuing a career with a defense contractor feels like the perfect intersection of these two passions—applying my knowledge of security and low-level systems to solve complex, high-stakes problems.

About This Site

This website is self-hosted on a Raspberry Pi running at my home. As shown in the image below, the Raspberry Pi is powered via a USB-C cable connected to my Nintendo Switch—not the most reliable power source! 😂

When visitors access my site, their requests are routed through my home network before reaching the Raspberry Pi. Building and maintaining this project has given me hands-on experience with a wide range of computer science topics, including networking, low-level programming in C, and full-stack development—covering both front-end and back-end systems, as well as client-server communication.
